Kayafas Architects Wesbanco Arena

WESBANCO ARENA

Major improvements to the Wesbanco Arena are currently being completed by Kayafas Architects. The renovations are the Phase 1 Vomitory Renovations Packages and the Phase 2 General Trades Improvements Package.
Phase 1 Vomitory Renovations are currently under construction and involve the replacement of the roof structure of each Vomitory.
Phase 2 General Trades is scheduled to begin Summer 2004 and will renovate the interior of the Arena to add a partial Upper Concourse at the Southwest and Northeast corner to provide additional restroom facilities. All the existing restroom facilities will be updated and improvements to the West Meeting Room and Clubhouse will also begin at that time. Kayafas Architects has also designed a new front entry structure as well as additional updates to the exterior for future completion.
Improvements to the Vomitories include the removal of the existing glass angled roof that is replaced with a curved green metal roof. A protion of the front of each vomitory was removed and a large window was added to provide additional natural light into the concourse area. Lighting was also upgraded during this phase of construction. Construction is expected to be completed Summer 2004.
